Jon Hillman - author of the Marigold series of books (Grim Work, The Crystal Keep, The Vile Realm, and The Dead and the Rotten) - asked if I could draw some character portraits for his (then) latest book - The Vile Realm - as chapter headers.
I opted for a Graphic Novel style approach, similar to The Walking Dead Series, and wrapped each portrait in a border to complete each piece. Jon was happy with the portraits from the off but this was down to his incredibly written character descriptions.
The Dead and the RottenSince drawing these portraits, I've also designed the cover artwork for the 4th instalment - The Dead and the Rotten. I kept the signature silhouette style synonymous with the series and worked off the description of the book's main area: Traverne.
