Anything goes

Monkey & Bird is a vintage industrial furniture and antiques shop operating online and via social media. They asked me to create a new logo for them, and whilst they didn't have anything in mind, they loved the Bauhaus movement and Communist propaganda poster designs.

Modern monkey, vintage bird

Because the brief was open, it was difficult to hone in on one idea or merge the client's preferences into one, so after a chat with them, I opted for two designs.

I settled on a colour palette that worked for both schemes and kept that consistent between them. The first design leans towards the Bauhaus examples that the client sent over with the brief, but focussed on a more simplified geometric interpretation of the animals. The second leans more towards the propaganda poster designs that the client also provided for inspiration.
